FINDING Grievous COST MEDICAL CARE (CHEAP OR FREE)WITHOUT HEALTH INSURANCE

Have you lost your job recently? Do you accumulate yourself composed unemployed as your COBRA runs out? Have you already been without health insurance for awhile and don’t know what to do? Living without health insurance can be a serious cause of stress and aggravation to say the least. As one of millions of Americans who are uninsured I’d like to bellow you what I’ve learned in dealing with this serious jam.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE

First and foremost you need to realize that you are not alone. Almost 40 million Americans (over 10 million American families) are without any make of healthinsurance.

My experience is that of a single unmarried individual so know this as you read my article. I can’t even imagine going through this with children and a wife who also are uninsured but realize that even in the midst of your peril and stress there are resources available to encourage you and people who want to benefit if you impartial know who to ask.

Also preserve in mind when you study at the statistics of how many people fragment your problem that we are a strong voting and negotiating block if we ever stand together and let our voices be heard. In addition to contacting the resources I’m about to assure you about it would be a sterling thing if every American without health insurance wrote to and called their Congressman, Senator, city councilman, and residence representative. Many of these numbers can be found apt in the government share of your Yellow Pages and unbiased about every town and city-hall would have most of these numbers available as well. I have also known people who were helped by their congressman and position representative when they made contact with them. Never be vexed to contact people and network. This is the most indispensable thing I can converse you and it bears repeating. Never be tremulous or hesitant to contact people who are supposed to encourage you. Some congressmen actually glimpse it as their job to aid constituents if you can imagine that. You can also check with the Social Security Administration to peek if you qualify for disability, Medicare, or Medicaid. Medicaid is a means-tested program that is automatically given to all disability recipients provided you drop within their income guidelines. For most of the people reading this your chances aren’t titanic but it is nonetheless something to try. If you’ve already tried this avenue and found it to be a dead-end do not despair. Read on for some other suggestions that might very well back you more than the federal government.

CALL YOUR LOCAL COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY FOR FREE OR LOW-COST MEDICAL CARE

If you apply to the federal government for Medicaid and are turned down there are tranquil resources available to you. The first thing I would try for basic medical checkups, tests, and dental care would be every college and university in the location. Universities are an even better bet than colleges as almost all universities have some kind of medical and dental program. I would smooth try colleges as well because some of them have basic programs but try the universities first and then the colleges. As long as you don’t mind being worked on by a student this can be a splendid low-cost alternative where they catch cash for services rendered on a sliding scale depending on household income.

Some of these programs also do billing but not all so ask before you simply go if you are going to have to pay in installments. I say “as long as you don’t mind being worked on by a student” but please remember that all these students are being carefully monitored by a professor and it really isn’t proper that “those who can’t do swear”. In fact honest the opposite is good, particularly in the medical and dental professions. All these competing universities are looking for both accreditation and students (and their tuition money) so the school’s reputation is based on how many students bag jobs upon graduation and that depends on both the student’s grades and the reputation of the school. If this a wretchedness for you judge what I’ve said and ask about the school or universities accreditation rating, graduating class percentages and grade averages, and most importantly employment percentages upon graduation. Generally this is a superior plot to originate to peruse for medical care when you are uninsured and this is where I would go first.

ATTEND LOCAL HEALTH SCREENINGS WHEN ADVERTISED

After calling the local colleges and universities or during the process you should check with all your local pharmacists and drugstore chains to recognize if they offer any free health screenings for diabetes, blood pressure, and cholesterol as well as childhood immunizations. I got my blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar checked and was also told at the same time about a local health initiative for low-income people where I could apply for medical care and assistance. I found this to be a very informative and valid half-hour of my life. Many of these screenings are attached to local health initiatives meant to give assistance to those with outrageous incomes or no health insurance. I attended one at a Walgreens store here in Highland Park and I would highly recommend

checking the internet for all the national chains with local stores in your residence. Many of these websites have a set you can go to check on community initiatives or community activities or something with similar phrasing so check that in addition to asking a pharmacist or store manager when or if they ever offer such a program. Most do at some point and even if you don’t collect any further referrals you will at least be given some necessary health information so that you know a dinky better where you stand in relation to your absorb health. I took my girlfriend to one of these screenings and we found out her blood pressure was off the charts which probably saved her life as we level-headed has time to adapt and change it. There is no more significant commodity than information so don’t be shocked of incandescent. Knowledge is power because then you can adapt your behavior and often change the set for the better. Go out and bag screened ASAP. If the local drugstore chain doesn’t have a screening check the websites of your local television stations because they usually have a community relations page or a public service page or both in addition to announcing local health screens on the nightly or morning news. It’s out there. Find out and utilize it.

TRY ALTERNATIVE HEALING METHODS TO Carve COSTS AND STRESS

Now it may seem humorous to many of you who haven’t tried natural healing methods to deem they might actually work but many people who’ve tried natural healing methods divulge by them as unbiased as splendid (if not better) than more feeble methods of treatment. In addition some of you who have tried natural healing methods might assume it a puny nuts to refer to such methods as coarse cost as some people can expend hundreds of dollars and more on natural treatments but it really is fair a matter of shopping for bargains and being persistent. Acupuncture can often be extremely expensive but I found an acupuncturist in Windsor Canada who only charges $25 a session. I found acupuncture to be extremely honorable in alleviating symptoms from several painful conditions and it also helps nick stress. The acupuncturist I saw also practices Weak Chinese Medicine and gives prescription advice on mature medicines. The medicines can be costly but the advice is free and while $25 for an acupuncture session is far from the norm you can often rep an acupuncturist who might charge $40 – 50 and occasionally even $30 -35 so hold looking. In addition chiropractic care can really begin to add up but some chiropractors are known to charge as small as $20 -30 a session. A half dozen sessions can really straighten you out and derive you feeling like a current person for as improper as $125 -150 dollars.

Also earn clear that you visit a local health food store and ask a store manager or knowledgeable salesperson about different herbs, foods, and homeopathic products for whatever condition you happen to be suffering from. Most health food stores are owned and operated by people who are very passionate about their products and who are very knowledgeable about living a healthy lifestyle. If you are unusual to all this healthful stuff don’t derive intimidated. Unbiased engage their advice and leer if it works for you. Health food stores are in business because the proprietors and owners genuinely want to encourage people and hold that their products actually work. It impartial so happens that not all products work for everyone but there are almost always other products and combinations of products to try. I suffer from snide acid reflux and found that a number of these products both singly and in combination with other “natural” products worked objective as well or better than doctor prescribed medications. Yes it can add up but shop around. Also remember while not a cure-all many people sigh they’ve been healed by natural products and after a time no longer needed expensive medications for so-called chronic or lifelong conditions. I can teach to the encourage I’ve received with my acid reflux from acidophilus, betaine, pancreatin with protease, lipase, and amylase, and also to a Chinese tea from the acupuncturist which works as well or better for me than prilosec or nexium. Please check it out. Getting healed is mighty less expensive than staying on medication your whole life.

CALL THE PARTNERSHIP FOR PRESCRIPTION ASSISTANCE

I know many of you must be wondering why I suggested this one after I unbiased finished running down customary medicines in favor of more “natural” methods but natural methods don’t always work equally well for every condition and I’m a vast advocate of two things: freedom and information. The Partnership for Prescription Assistance was formed during the sizable shake up of Medicare several years attend and was share of the thought meant to support with gaps in the legislation. Pick advantage of it. Call 1-800- 4 PPA NOW or go to their website at www.pparx.com and acquire out the forms to apply for assistance today. They can serve you and they should. If you qualify many of the medicines are free or nearly free. Apply today.

REDUCE STRESS AND DON’T SWEAT IT SO MUCH

O.K. I hear a lot of you saying “What do you mean don’t sweat it so remarkable. What the heck do you mean don’t sweat it so noteworthy. I DON’T HAVE ANY HEALTH INSURANCE! O.K. you’re lawful, it’s not graceful, but lots of things in life aren’t dazzling and getting indignant and stressed can only obtain you sick. Do yoga. Meditate. Hold a poke. Rush. Swim. Stretch the body and mind and collect some cardiovascular exhaust. Practice mindfulness. Pray. Most of all be grateful for what you do own whatever that might be. I know this is a really tough one when you’re down and out but try and remember all the things you do have. If your children are healthy be grateful. If you and your wife are healthy be grateful. If someone helps you out financially or a healthcare provider gives you a advantageous inexpensive service be grateful and also try to pass it on. If someone was worthy train their supervisor and commend them for it. If a health-food store or a chiropractor or an acupuncturist gave you fine advice, ample service, or a sterling effect pass on the information to others and gather the word out about the splendid service providers. Remember the law of karma and the golden rule and try to pass the goodness down the line. Also remember that many people who do have health insurance are not getting the best deal and all kinds of people who do have health insurance are turned down on all sorts of claims (most of them serious and not at all frivolous) and are paying into a system and getting ripped off. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t spy for health insurance and capture it if you can fetch it but don’t impartial seize any feeble offer and don’t let anyone shine you on. Remember it’s usually the doctors who want to assist, not the insurance companies. The doctors went to school to learn how to back people. Insurance companies fair want to execute money and they produce most of their money by turning down claims so remember this when you’re talking or writing to your Senator, Congressman, Space Representative, or city councilperson. Impartial hang in there and hold slugging. I hope you score some of these tips ample in your search for decent medical care on the cheap. This is what has worked for me.

I’m a 53-year-old downsized person, who lost a valid job and health insurance coverage three years ago. My obedient job was as a journalist; I had worked 32 years for The Saginaw (Mich.) News, and my pay was similar to a school teacher. However, the newspaper industry was suffering and so I lost my job.

Here in 2009, what are the opinions of my elected federal representatives as a resident of the suffering auto town of Saginaw, Michigan? Well, Michigan is the hardest-hit, most unpleasant dwelling in the nation, with 15 percent unemployment. Therefore, we elect Democrats. However, I am sorry to say that my elected Democrats have not been especially active on health insurance reform, even though they will vote in favor of whatever is desired by President Barack Obama.

U.S. Senator Carl Levin, in office since 1978, seems more alive to in foreign affairs and defense spending. U.S. Senator Deborah Stabenow, in federal office since the middle 1990s after a long tenure in Michigan site government, unprejudiced isn’t very dynamic.

Then we have Congressman Dale Kildee of Flint, whom we inherited in Saginaw because declining population after the 2000 Census deprived us of having our maintain “local” U.S. representative in Congress. Dale Kildee has been in Congress for 32 years and will turn 80 in September, but he is one of those egocentric legislators who won’t give up his tenure for a younger and more involved representative, sort of like a Democratic Strom Thurmond. I know this by calling his uncooperative office for info on details on the economic stimulus; I was referred to federal websites, with Kildee’s local office showing no local initiative. Dale Kildee objective doesn’t do remarkable, at least not anymore, from what I look.

As an advocate for President Obama on health insurance, I should be gay that Levin and Stabenow and Kildee will benefit President Obama with their votes, but I want more than their votes. I am disappointed in their lack of active advocacy; they sort of seem like deadwood to me.

For all of those years that I worked at The Saginaw News, those 32 years from 1973 to 2006, I had supported national health insurance. My income for our family was a very middle income, such as around $50,000 during the later years of this employment, but I was willing to pay higher taxes so that my less fortunate sisters and brothers could obtain health insurance, even while President Obama pledges not to raise taxes on anyone making less than $250,000. Why is this income level place so high for those of us with enough income, show or past, that we should be willing to piece? After all, should not those of us with decent incomes attend to befriend those with lower incomes? I was willing to pay higher sacrifices for so-called “Hillarycare” in 1993 and 1994, but that was defeated. I was willing to unselfishly section, but most of my peers with middle incomes were not willing to fragment. They were selfish.

Most people in my space, or more fortunate than myself, have been selfish and opposed to national health insurance when it comes to brass tacks. That’s why we didn’t have health care reform during 1993 and 1994 under Bill and Hillary Clinton. Selfishness led to our defeat. And when you contemplate of it, this sort of selfishness has led to our defeat ever since President Harry Truman proposed national health insurance during the slow 1940s after World War II.

These idiots who weep against national health care at these town hall forums are very frustrating to me. They are mostly low-income and low-middle income people who are screaming against their hold self-interests.

The pending defeat of national health insurance is so gloomy to me. It’s like we are unable to piece for the approved wonderful. I wish people would not be so selfish and so hateful. Shouldn’t we all have health insurance?

Affordable Health Insurance in Michigan

Yes Affordable Health Insurance in Michigan is available!!!

Health Insurance…do you have it? Health Insurance is one of those types of insurance that everyone needs, but many people go without. Nobody wants to pay for it. Employers don’t want to add the expense to their business and individuals don’t realize that they can bag affordable individual health insurance in Michigan. Traditionally employers provided health insurance benefits for their employees. With the recent trends of exorbitant premium increases many employers are reducing their benefits or simply not offering health insurance anymore.

People don’t have health insurance for many reasons:

1.Their employers don’t offer it.

2.Itsy-bitsy business owners don’t have enough employees to qualify for a group.

3.Self employed people don’t deem they can afford it.

4.People impartial don’t know where to spy or they contemplate that individual health insurance is not affordable.

Now I am here to give you an education on how to lower your health insurance premiums without giving up the benefits we consume everyday.

First, when you are searching for health insurance, salvage an insurance broker. A broker is someone who represents many different insurance companies. They have the ability to search the prices of many companies they relate. A captive agent can only sell for one company…the company he/she works for. Another estimable tip is to glean an insurance agent that is local. There are a lot of companies out there that sell health insurance over the phone. Having a local agent that you have seen in person can put you future headaches when it comes to servicing your policy. Your agent is the gatekeeper to the insurance companies. Exhaust them. Imagine that you have spent most of your life in one job. Now, imagine that you lose your job tomorrow. Along with losing the security of a precise paycheck and retirement benefits, you lose your health insurance coverage as well. No matter where you are perched on the political fence, the lack of affordable health insurance in the United States is a serious deliver.

According to Infoplease, 14.2% of Maryland residents had no health insurance in the year 2004-2005. The lack of affordable health insurance in the United States is a serious dilemma which affects all of us. I know about the serious problems that result from the lack of health insurance, because I am writing from personal experience.

Since taking over my Grandfather’s company in the early nineties, my Dad has been a self-employed office furniture dealer. Like many other self-employed people, Dad could not afford to carry me on his company’s health insurance policy. The expensive insurance premiums which Dad would have paid to carry me on his company’s insurance policy were mostly due to my having a physical disability. Since I have Cerebral Palsy, a preexisting condition, carrying me on his health insurance was a very expensive proposition. At the time Dad took over the business, my family could not afford to carry me on his company’s health insurance policy.

As a result, I was without health insurance for seven years. During this time, I discovered many obstacles to receiving quality health care. This is especially factual when you are a consumer with vital medical needs. For any medical issues related to my orthopedic needs resulting from Cerebral Palsy, I received medical care at two different free clinics. One of the clinics was located in my residence. God wired me to be an optimistic woman. As you can imagine, I expected to receive advantageous care, at least from the clinic in my site. I was surprised and disappointed in the ghastly care I received at both clinics.

It is certainly not encouraging for anyone to be treated as an object and not a wonderfully God-created human being. However, I am saddened and dismayed to relate that this was my experience with the no-cost options for my health care. I am blessed to be a lustrous, deliver and colorful lady. Unfortunately, I was not treated like an shimmering lady by either of the two doctors who provided me care at both of the clinics. Looking wait on, I now realize that I was treated more like an object than an sigh woman who has thoughts, feelings and viewpoints that matter.

The only reason that I even consulted with clinic doctors was due to the fact that I was experiencing a very serious and painful medical state related to my disability. After almost fifteen years of efforts to sustain my apt hip in the socket using several forms of physical therapy, I learned a very painful lesson. Our bodies don’t always agree with the desires of our hearts. My hip went out of socket in January, 1994. In retrospect, I had years of warning about my hip, but the doctor was a difficult and arrogant man. This particular doctor remains very illustrious for how he performs surgery. However, the fact that this doctor lacked warmth and sensitivity and had the bedside manner of a tree stump was a major red flag to me. Although this doctor originally diagnosed my correct hip as going out of socket in May, 1993, I chose not to authorize him to operate on me. At the time, this was the best decision because our doctor-patient rapport was not the best. We were socially acceptable, but we really didn’t salvage along at all.

The longer that my family and I searched for a knowledgeable, favorable and caring doctor, the more intolerable my hurt became. Eventually, my wound reached the point where my only comfortable region was complete bed rest. If you have ever traveled to another country, then you can probably luxuriate in how fantastically blessed we are to be living in the United States of America. Ironically, as wealthy as our country is, there detached exist infamous differences in the treatment of the people who have health insurance and those who do not. As both an American and a patient, I am deeply saddened and disappointed that this is the unacceptable reality of our fresh healthcare system.

Physically, I knew that I could not recall the distress distinguished longer. Imagine that someone is constantly sticking your leg with hot, prickly, pins for over seven years. It is excruciating! That is exactly how I felt all the time. I knew I needed major surgery to be comfortable again and have any chance of regaining my ability to function in my daily life. So that I would receive worthy needed health insurance for an operation which I seriously needed, my mom went to work part-time as an Attendance Secretary for the largest school system in our area.

A month before my senior year of high school, I underwent hip relocation surgery. I was in a beefy body cast for three months during the hottest time of the year! My recovery, which was originally expected to only last six weeks, in reality lasted three and a half years. As a result, I underwent many hours and forms of intense physical therapy. When you are sixteen, you don’t always relish the demolish goal. During this time, I did not understand why I calm pain, or why my therapist Cara was motivating me with music to work until I screamed and cried. Looking wait on now, I appreciate Cara very distinguished for her dedication, encouragement and commitment to me and my healing process. I knew that my healing process was in the Lord’s control and timing all along!

I am so incredibly thankful, both for the improvement and return to normalcy of my health, and God’s abundant blessings in each novel day. Sadly, the lack of affordable health insurance remains a serious plight for many Americans. In my understanding, this is pathetic and unacceptable. We are in a healthcare crisis in the United States and are in serious need of a national health insurance policy. As both a patient who receives healthcare on a continuing basis and a tax-paying citizen, I hope and pray that the establishiment of a national health insurance program is accomplished in the arrive future.

About a year ago, my doctor and I discussed a surgical design that would alleviate some issues I have had over the past couple of years. Our discussion did not center on my well being as a patient, although that was the ultimate goal. Rather, it revolved around the cost associated with the surgery and whether or not health insurance would mask it. Unfortunately, this was not my first conversation with a health care provider regarding health insurance and probably won’t be my last. I have gone from having no health insurance coverage, while in college, to having a major HMO idea when I worked for a ample corporation, to being covered, sporadically, while being self-employed.

After being married a few years, my husband and I learned the contrast between insurance paid health costs and those costs paid, out-of-pocket. This happened when my doctor confirmed we would be having our first child. We were very indignant even as we were directed to the doctor’s billing office to arrange payment. We were asked if we had health insurance. We did, indeed, have health insurance, but had learned that it did not screen maternity costs. We were told our cost to the doctor, especially if paid up-front, would be considerable less than if our insurance had covered it anyway. What we learned was that doctors and hospitals charge a distinguished higher rate for those covered by insurance due to the extra costs they incur in having to deal with health insurance companies in the first site! We were troubled by this, but were elated that our payment made that day was lower than it would have been had we actually had coverage. About a week later, we visited the hospital for a tour of the maternity unit, and paid them for their upcoming services too.

Approximately eight months later, our baby girl was born via emergency surgery. After returning home, I received a bill from the hospital for around ten thousand dollars. I also got an extra bill from my doctor as well. I was devastated. We had unprejudiced brought home our newborn baby and what should have been a joyous time, became a very stressful one. However, we lickety-split paid the doctor for his additional services and I began making monthly payments to the hospital. I was told that since emergency surgery was performed, that our insurance may waste up paying fragment of the bill. I contacted our insurance company and they said, no.

Six busy months with our daughter had rapidly passed when I got a call from the hospital. The lady on the other raze of the phone said, “I glimpse you have been making payments to us for a while.” Then she laughed and said, “With the rate you’re going, this bill will prefer forever to pay off! We were inaccurate in billing you as noteworthy as we did. You really only owe fifteen hundred dollars. Would you like to assign that on a credit card? ” She went on to declare me that they had inadvertently billed me the hospital’s “insurance rate”. I was relieved that I didn’t owe the larger amount, but it made me realize fair how distinguished the cost of healthcare was inflated due to the involvement of health insurance companies.
Being self-employed now, we have tried individual health insurance plans and they simply do not work. What I have found is, the monthly premiums initiate out at a somewhat reasonable rate, but they eventually increase dramatically in designate after about a year. When we try to expend the coverage for nothing more than a doctor’s visit, we are billed the insurance rate. That rate can result in grand more money owed than if we had simply paid out-of-pocket in the first area. My experience with health insurance companies is that they have added a gigantic amount of cost and complexity to something very personal. When a doctor and their patient have to be concerned with the label of a plot, rather than the well-being of the patient, it’s evident that the insurance companies have taken the care out of healthcare.
